Mechanical Engineer – Inverclyde


An established and growing manufacturing business in Inverclyde is looking to appoint a hands‑on Mechanical Engineer to join their maintenance team. This is a fantastic opportunity offering a 4‑day working week and long‑term stability within a highly respected operation.


The Role

You’ll be responsible for day‑to‑day mechanical maintenance across a busy production site, ensuring machinery runs safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. This includes planned, reactive and preventative maintenance on a wide range of equipment.


What You’ll Bring

  • Strong mechanical engineering background within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
  • Confident fault‑finding and problem‑solving ability
  • Experience working with mechanical systems such as pumps, conveyors, valves and related factory equipment
  • Practical workshop skills (e.g., milling, turning, drilling, tapping) are highly desirable
  • A proactive, hands‑on approach with a focus on improving processes and supporting production performance
