Company Overview:

My client is a world leading, tier 1 civil engineering contractor. They are currently working on some of the largest projects within the UK. The majority of their projects include highways, rail, aviation, tunnelling and heavy infrastructure schemes. You will be based on one of their projects which has an estimated lifecycle of 15 years with a value of nearly £600M.

Overview of the role:

To manage all aspects of Plant & Material procurement to ensure compliance with procedures and facilitate controls to ensure budgetary compliance, Manage and support all aspects of Facilities Management for the Project/office. To provide a proactive administrative support to the Project.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Procurement as per company procedures/Hire/Off hire Notifications of Operated and Non operated plant from 'Preferred Suppliers' including production of weekly plant hire reports and SAP entry.
  • Liaise with Commercial Manager to Manage Month end Plant, Material and site overhead accruals and monitor same where applicable
  • Co-Ordinate Procurement of Temporary/Permanent materials including Call off orders, Logistics and the production of weekly Material sheet and SAP entry.
  • To manage all aspects of facilities management for the project to ensure the effective operation of the office/welfare including management of Security/Cleaners and Canteen where applicable.
  • To ensure compliance with current regulations /Company Procedures for HSQE where applicable
  • Co-ordinate site set up with regard to offices, utility connections and ongoing utilities.
  • Manage site vehicle fleet with regard to commercial vehicles both hired and owned including monthly reporting to Head office and ensuring maintenance carried out in accordance with manufacturers warranties etc.
