We are looking for a dedicated and dynamic health care assistant to work as part of a team on ward 4 in the Princess of Wales Hospital.

Ward 4 is a specialty ward caring for patients with acute cardiology and endocrine problems. It is a busy and fast‐paced environment where the whole strive to ensure excellent and safe care is delivered to all patients.

This post is fixed term/secondment for 12 months to cover maternity leave. If you are interested in applying for it as a secondment, please obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying.

Main duties of the jobProvision of care to patients with medical conditions, mainly cardiology and endocrine, under the guidance of the Registered Nurse.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable at Level 3 Speaking/Listening (or 'B1' level if you've learnt Welsh as an adult). This doesn't mean you have to be fluent or able to write long reports in Welsh; it just means being able to hold simple conversations with patients. The Health Board currently operates a number of different shift systems. The most common are a 12.5 hour shift, inclusive of either one 30 minute or two 30‐minute unpaid breaks. These shift patterns are subject to review and the Health Board reserves the right to change working arrangements.
