Floating Mental Health Support Worker, Yorkshire, Driver with CarDriver with access to a car.
Hub Based with travel to the Care in Mind portfolio - to Huddersfield and Liversedge in West Yorkshire.
£28,135.50 - £30,205.50 per annum (dependent on experience). Plus mileage paid from local hub.
Full Time 37.5 hours per week.
Main duties of the jobEssential requirements of a Floating Mental Health Support Worker
Flexibility – your role will involve working shifts including weekends and bank holidays
Full UK Driving Licence and access to a car
Must be able to attend training throughout employment which will be held on weekdays
Good written skills and the ability to write basic reports and record information accurately
Basic IT skills – your role will involve some computer work, completing forms, using an online care system, and writing emails
Good verbal communication skills and the ability to listen to others
An ability to maintain a professional working boundary
Ability to remain calm in emergencies, supporting others during difficult situations
Desirable Criteria of a Floating Mental Health Support Worker
NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent in Care
Previous experience of working with young people who have mental health needs

Job responsibilitiesAt Care in Mind, our homes are always a hub of activity and energy where the young people can feel safe, and our staff enjoy coming to work. Your role will involve working with our young people to promote independence through support with education, household tasks and general life skills. You will also update online care records and complete medication administration. In addition, you will be responsible for the general upkeep and tidiness of the home ensuring the young people live in a homely environment.
You will undertake a wide range of duties, which will involve direct and indirect care of young people who have complex mental health needs within the Care in Mind residential homes and various other settings e.g. College/leisure activities.
You will conduct multiple interventions involving the delivery of care to young people and to promote their independence ensuring continuity of care in accordance with Care in Mind policies and procedures.
The role of a floating support worker is to work across the Care in Mind portfolio of services covering Huddersfield and Liversedge, Yorkshire. Therefore you must have a Full UK driving licence with access to a car.
Previous care experience is desirable but full training will be provided. You will receive ongoing support and mentoring from our friendly residential and clinical team.

Able to work shifts within a 24‐hour/7 days per week rota (including some bank holidays). Must be able to carry out all shift expectations as outlined: Early shift – 7 am–3:30 pm, Late shift 2 pm–10 pm, Late sleep 2:30 pm–11 pm, Occasional Waking night for emergency cover 8:30 pm–7:30 am
IT skills and the ability to write emails and use Microsoft Office
An understanding of the issues young people face
Good written communication skills and the ability to write basic reports and record information accurately
To have a clean driving licence and access to a car
