A high number of candidates may make applications for this position, so make sure to send your CV and application through as soon as possible.Full-Time | Until End of Academic Year (potential to continue)£90£110 per day (depending on experience)Were working with an Ofsted rated Good primary school in Weston-Super-Mare who are looking to appoint an English graduate to join them as an Interventions Teaching Assistant.This role would suit someone considering a future career in Primary Teaching and is looking to gain hands-on experience working with children in a school setting.Youll be supporting pupils across the school, including children with additional needs, with English interventions, this includes developing pupils core literacy skills such as phonics, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and comprehension; Some 1:1 support may be required.The school has a strong and supportive team and provides guidance and structure, making it a great setting for a graduate looking to build practical experience.The role will involve:Supporting pupils in class to access learningDeveloping pupils core literacy skills such as phonics, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and comprehensionDelivering small group interventionsProviding 1:1 support where requiredAssisting with behaviour regulation and emotional supportWorking closely with teachers and the SENCoThe school is looking for someone who:Holds a bachelors degree in English (or related subject)Is confident, calm and patientHas an interest in child development and additional needsCan build positive relationships with pupils and staffIs reliable and committedAny experience working with children (schools, tutoring, coaching, care or youth work) would be advantageous, though not essential.This is a great opportunity for a graduate looking to gain meaningful school-based experience in a well-run and welcoming primary school.
