Bromley Healthcare has an exciting Community Healthcare Assistant (HCA) opportunity working within the District Nursing Team. The HCA is a valued and integral member of the Nursing Team and is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of nursing care in accordance with Bromley Healthcare policies and procedures.

The RoleJoin Bromley Healthcare's District Nursing Teams in Bromley, Beckenham, Orpington, or Biggin Hill, delivering care in patients' homes. You'll provide person-centred support for people with long-term conditions, rehabilitation needs, or end-of-life care, etc

Main duties of the jobThe post-holder will work as a member of the Nursing Teams and will undertake delegated duties mostly without direct supervision, in the patients home or other community settings. The post holder will report all care provision back to the team to ensure continuity and a high standard of care to all patients in the community.

The successful candidate will undertake delegated nursing tasks in line with their clinical competence. Applicants should have experience/competence to complete the following:

Monitoring and prompting patient use of pre-dispensed medication

Administration of eye drops

Blood glucose monitoring

Taking and recording blood pressure

Non-complex wound care

Care of stoma

Insulin administration

Recording Observations

Recognition of a deteriorating patient

Set up and take down of enteral feeds

Level 2 functional skills in Maths & English or equivalent qualification
