Job Title: Registered Manager – Residential Services
Salary: Circa £39,000 per annum
Hours: Permanent, Full-Time
Location: West Yorkshire
Setting: Adults with Learning Disabilities and Complex Disabilities
Overview:
Compass Associates is proud to partner with a well-established, values-led charity in West and South Yorkshire in their search for an experienced Registered Manager to lead a dedicated residential service. With over 70 years of history supporting adults and young people with profound and complex disabilities, this organisation operates across multiple residential homes and holds a strong reputation for person-centred, holistic care. Their mission centres on ability, inclusion, and helping the people they support live as independently as possible.
This is a full-time position based at an eight-bedroom residential service in West Yorkshire. The service is fully occupied, supported by a well-established and skilled staff team, and sits within a close-knit community. The home is a converted, character-filled residential building with en-suite bedrooms, a shared garden and patio, a sensory room, and spacious communal areas. This is a stable, settled service and a genuine opportunity for the right manager to lead with confidence from day one.
The Candidate:
The Registered Manager will take full responsibility for the leadership and daily operation of the home, ensuring compliance with CQC regulations and delivering person-centred support to adults with complex disabilities. The role requires a hands-on management style. The current team thrives under visible, engaged leadership, and they are looking for someone who is willing to get involved day to day alongside the staff they lead.
Candidates currently operating at Deputy Manager level who are ready to step up will be considered, provided they demonstrate the drive and capability to succeed in a Registered Manager role.
Key Responsibilities:
As Registered Manager, you will hold overall responsibility for the management of the service, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Your role will include:
Leadership and Management
Overseeing day-to-day operations of the service, leading a team of care professionals, and fostering a positive, collaborative work environment.
Quality Care
Ensuring residents receive the highest standard of care tailored to their individual needs, with person-centred support planning at the core of everything you do.
Regulatory Compliance
Maintaining compliance with CQC standards and other relevant regulatory frameworks, conducting audits, and implementing any necessary improvements.
Staff Development
Providing leadership and support for the care team, including training, supervision, and performance management to ensure a skilled and motivated workforce.
Financial and Operational Oversight
Managing budgets, resource allocation, and ensuring the efficient running of the service while maintaining financial sustainability.
Essential Requirements:
We are seeking an experienced professional with the following qualifications and experience:
- A proven track record in managing or leading residential services for adults with learning disabilities, complex disabilities, or associated needs.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and build positive relationships.
- A minimum of Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, or equivalent, with commitment to continued professional development. Working knowledge of CQC regulations and standards.
- Experience supporting adults with complex needs, including learning disabilities, autism, and physical disabilities.
- A solid understanding of risk management and safeguarding practices.
- Experience managing services for adults with a range of complex needs including learning disabilities, autism, and physical disabilities.
- An understanding of risk management and safeguarding practices within care settings.
