Occupational Health Advisor and Clinical Lead.
Location: Northumberland.
Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Health Nurse to join UKIM Occupational Health & Wellbeing. Working closely with the Head of OH Clinical Operations, you will play a key role in delivering a high quality, professional, and comprehensive Occupational Health service to our customers.
In this senior role, you will operate as an autonomous practitioner, managing your own clinical workload while providing expert advice in sickness absence management, vocational rehabilitation, and new customer clinical onboarding. You will also support the wider OH team to ensure service excellence, clinical governance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of OH clinicians, including line management, appraisals, inductions, and day to day clinical support.
- Deliver high quality clinical work, including complex case management and guidance for other clinicians.
- Support OH operations and administration teams with clinical queries and scheduling to ensure efficient resource use.
- Work with the Account Manager to oversee OH contracts, ensuring service delivery, performance, and quality assurance.
- Support and advise on clinical governance requirements for employed and contracted clinicians.
- Develop a strong independent nurse culture through mentoring, coaching, and CPD initiatives.
- Contribute to business growth by delivering measurable, high quality services.
- Provide professional OH advice to managers and employees on risk identification, assessment, and control.
- Develop and maintain risk based health screening, vaccination, and health surveillance programmes.
- Contribute to training, health promotion, and OH?related campaigns.
- Maintain professional standards in line with NMC codes, legislation, and best practice.
- Ensure accurate and compliant record keeping.
- Undertake additional responsibilities aligned with service development.
About You
You will bring substantial OH experience, strong leadership capability, and a passion for delivering high quality clinical services.
Knowledge & Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ post registration OH experience, including complex case management.
- RGN with a recognised post registration OH qualification. (Part 3 Nursing Reg)
- Full remit OH skills including health surveillance, immunisations, and safety critical medicals.
- Strong understanding of OH legislation, best practice, KPIs, SLAs, and SEQOHS standards.
- Experience in clinical governance, auditing, supervision, and revalidation support.
- Skilled in producing clear, concise, and accurate clinical documentation.
- Confident communicator able to influence stakeholders at all levels.
