Mechanical Engineer

Location: Fareham

Type: Permanent

Salary: Up to £45,000

The Opportunity

We’re working with a leading engineering organisation operating in a highly regulated environment, looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer to support the development of advanced products.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a few years of industry experience who wants to work across the full product lifecycle, from concept through to testing and validation.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for designing, analysing, and developing mechanical components and systems, working closely with cross-functional teams including systems, electronics, and production.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs from concept through to detailed design using CAD
• Generate technical requirements and ensure traceability to specifications
• Conduct design analysis including feasibility and impact assessments
• Support testing activities including DFMEA and validation
• Interpret test results and produce clear technical reports
• Work with production teams to ensure designs are manufacturable
• Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to deliver engineering solutions
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes

What We’re Looking For

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• 2 to 4 years’ experience in a relevant engineering role
• Experience with CAD and mechanical design
• Understanding of design for manufacture and assembly
• Experience with testing and validation
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders
