Assistant Commercial Manager

I’m currently recruiting for an Assistant Commercial Manager to join a large London public‑sector environment on an interim basis. This role is post‑contract focused and supports the commercial management, financial control and administration of live Facilities Management contracts across both rail and non‑rail environments.

Key Details

• Contract length: Until December 2026
• Location: Hybrid working with office attendance on Tuesdays at North Greenwich and Wednesdays at either North Greenwich or Southwark, with the remainder working from home
• Daily rate: £265 PAYE / £361.17 Umbrella
• Start date: ASAP
• Interview: Via Microsoft Teams

Role Overview

You will provide commercial and contract support across multiple FM contracts, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure effective post‑contract management. The role is firmly focused on live contract delivery, supporting financial tracking, compliance, and day‑to‑day commercial activity rather than procurement or tendering.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• Strong post‑contract commercial management experience, with a clear understanding of live contract administration
• Confidence working with contracts and contract documentation, including responding to scope and commercial queries
• High level of attention to detail with strong analytical capability
• Advanced Excel skills, particularly for financial tracking, reporting and forecasting
• Experience or strong working knowledge of SAP and/or Ariba
• Experience within the rail, transport or similarly complex asset‑based environments is preferred
• Exposure to Hard FM or maintenance contracts across rail and non‑rail portfolios
• Ability to adapt quickly to new systems and manage multiple priorities
• Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills
