Job description

Mechanical Design Engineers

South West & South Coast | Multiple Opportunities | All Levels | Permanent & Contract

We are working with a range of innovative and established engineering organisations across the South West and South Coast, supporting growth across multiple sectors including advanced technology, medical devices, aerospace and complex product development.

We are keen to connect with Mechanical Design Engineers at all levels — from early-career through to senior and lead engineers — who are interested in exploring new opportunities either now or in the near future.

The Opportunity

These roles sit within high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams delivering cutting-edge products and systems — often from early concept through to manufacture and deployment.

Depending on level and client, you may be involved in:

  • Concept generation and detailed mechanical design
  • Development of electromechanical systems and products
  • Engineering analysis, testing and validation
  • Supporting full product lifecycle from idea through to production
  • Working closely with electronics, software and systems teams
  • Leading projects or technical workstreams (senior roles)
  • Engaging with stakeholders and customers in consultancy-led environments

About You

You are a curious and methodical engineer with a strong grounding in engineering fundamentals and a genuine interest in how products work and how they are used.

You enjoy working collaboratively and bringing ideas to life within multi-disciplinary teams.

Skills & Experience

We’re interested in engineers who can demonstrate a strong mix of the following:

  • Mechanical design experience across complex products or systems
  • Experience taking designs from concept through to manufacture
  • Exposure to electromechanical systems
  • Strong analytical approach using engineering principles and tools
  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of structured engineering processes (e.g. FMEA, risk management)
  • Clear communication skills — both written and verbal
  • Experience in client-facing or consultancy environments (desirable)
  • Project or technical leadership experience (for senior roles)

Backgrounds may include medical devices, aerospace, defence, automotive, robotics or other highly regulated / complex engineering environments.

Why Apply?

  • Access to multiple opportunities across different organisations and sectors
  • Roles tailored to your experience level and career ambitions
  • Opportunities across start-ups, scale-ups and established businesses
  • Support from a relationship-led consultancy that understands the market

Interested?

If you’re open to exploring your options — now or in the future — we’d welcome a confidential conversation.
