We are on the hunt for an enthusiastic and skilled Occupational Therapist specialising in Equipment and Adaptations to join our vibrant 0-18 Disability Service in Kent. Main Purpose of the Job:

In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of highly effective occupational therapy within the 0-18 Disability Team. Your work will enable children and young people with disabilities to achieve positive outcomes by employing a strength-based personalised approach. You will be responsible for conducting quality OT assessments and using clinical reasoning to implement solutions that enhance independence and safety. This involves utilizing a range of equipment, employing enablement techniques, and facilitating both minor and major adaptations. Collaboration with internal and external teams is key to maximising service users' independence and improving their quality of life.


What you will do:

- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine appropriate interventions and equipment that improve daily living skills.

- Collaborate with families, educators, and healthcare professionals to create tailored plans that meet each individual's needs.

- Utilise available resources such as Disabled Facilities Grants to deliver necessary adaptations.

- Promote the importance of safety and ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.

- Support the Council’s Fair Access, Diversity, and Inclusion Policy.

- Remain committed to the prevention of crime and disorder under Section 17 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998.

- Undertake other activities as needed and agreed upon with management to support the service delivery.


Requirements:

- Qualified Occupational Therapist registered with HCPC.

- Proven experience working on complex cases independently with substantial knowledge of manual handling casework.

- Experience and understanding of specialist daily living equipment.

- Knowledge of safeguarding issues, particularly concerning vulnerable children and young adults with additional needs.

- Full driving licence and enhanced DBS clearance.

- Competency in ICT skills, including Microsoft Office Word.
