Job TitleSEND Support Worker
SalaryFTE £26,267 – £26,567 pro rata for hours and weeks
LocationMultiple locations across the Kirklees College campuses
Hours & Weeks18 / 24 / 30 hours per week, 38 weeks per year
Responsibilities
Provide exceptional support for SEND students across all curriculum areas and college sites.
Develop supportive relationships with students while remaining professional.
Deliver strategies to promote and reinforce student self‐esteem.
Provide physical and personal care support as required.
Work under the direction of the class tutor and exercise your own initiative.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and Maths at grade A‐C).
Minimum Level 2 qualification relevant to the post.
Previous experience of working with young people in an educational capacity.
Knowledge of EHCPs and SEND, with experience of supporting students with diverse learning needs.
Excellent communication and digital skills.
Ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
