OverviewAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a self‐motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our UCAT team where you will be integral to ensuring safe and effective delivery of care.

ResponsibilitiesOur UCAT team operates a 24/7 day service and is responsible for providing same day/emergency mental health responses to roughly 375,000 people in Fife. You will work alongside registered nurses and other members of the wider team to provide care and support to people who experience a range of mental health difficulties that may impact on their wellbeing, safety and day‐to‐day functioning. You will record all appointments via electronic systems and send information to primary care regarding assessment outcomes.

Assist with the provision of trauma‐informed care, including the management of distress and disturbed behaviour.

Liaise with and coordinate other services.

Report any changes in patient presentation to registered nurse colleagues.

Provide one‐to‐one care and support under supervision, including observation and/or escorting patients.

Support administration and record keeping.

Order department stock and supplies.

Participate in wider service activities and deploy to support other clinical areas where necessary.

Carry out assigned duties to contribute to safety and security of the designated clinical area.

The role is based in Kirkcaldy but may involve travel to other localities.

EligibilityBecoming a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
