Podiatry clinical support workerThe closing date is 07 May 2026

We are looking for an organised, enthusiastic and highly motivated podiatry clinical support worker, to be a good team player and able to work independently and under pressure.

You will be supporting the podiatrists undertaking nail surgery, wound and assessment clinics. It will require travel to various clinics in Torbay and South Devon as necessary.

High standards of treatment and professionalism, adherence to policies and procedures is essential.

Main duties of the jobYou will assist the podiatry team to deliver high quality care to a caseload across the Torbay and South Devon area and will be working closely with other community healthcare workers and provider agencies within a variety of care settings including:

community clinics

domiciliary work

care homes

contribute to the development of the podiatry team

You will be:

committed to and undertake CPD, evidence based practice and clinical rotation

providing high standards of treatment and professionalism and to continue to develop a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care

Due to the role requirements, you must have the ability to travel around the Torbay and South Devon locality to undertake home visits.

Person SpecificationQualifications

NVQ Care Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification/experience

Care certificate

English & Mathematics at GSCE grade A-C (9-4) or level 2 functional skills

Specific skills

Basic computer/keyboard skills

Good interpersonal and communication skills

Able to prioritise and organise work

Able to work under instruction, under pressure and as part of a team

Able to manage stress in themselves and others

Able to offer support at times of emotional distress

Willingness to undertake new skills and training

Able to work as a team member or independently

Ability to adapt behaviour to changing and challenging situations

To be flexible, adaptable, reliable and punctual

Demonstrate a positive commitment to uphold diversity and equality policies approved by the Trust

Healthcare competencies appropriate to area of work

Knowledge and Experience

Previous experience in a care environment or able to demonstrate a caring nature/ life experience

Understands the need for strict confidentiality

Substantial evidence of working under delegation of duty

Ability to provide health education to patients

Working knowledge of complex care needs of some individuals/families including Safeguarding Children & Adults, Domestic Abuse and Mental Health
