About The RoleWe have a fantastic opportunity for a Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at HMP Wymott, a Category C male prison located in Leyland. The prison has a capacity of around 1,100 and a varied and complex population.

Hours & SalaryFull‐time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am‐4pm. Annual salary £25,557 – £29,723 per annum depending on experience.

Responsibilities

Work with mental health patients across the wings, caring for those with severe mental health issues, personality disorders, ADHD, learning disabilities etc.

Carry out physical health checks – bloods, physical observations, ECGs, weight checks.

Co‐facilitate groups, including psychology sessions such as 'Making Sense'.

Assist nurses and report findings and assessments.

Ensure continuity of care and deliver outstanding care at all times.

Contribute to and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics.

Qualifications & Experience

Ideally hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care.

Experience in a mental health environment.

Knowledge of mental health issues.

Experience of ECGs and bloods, or willingness to undertake training.

Experience in a prison or secure setting or hospital is a bonus.
