Senior Wellbeing Support Worker Spider is advertising on behalf of our client who is seeking a Senior Wellbeing Support Worker to join their team on a full-time, fixed-term basis in Ipswich, Suffolk.Fantastic company benefits include: Competitive Salary : On offer is a competitive salary of £27,202 - £30,856 per annumHoliday: 25 days plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days with length of service (pro rata for part-time employees) + your birthday off and the option to buy or sell annual leaveAdditional: Health and dental care insurance plan, occupational sick pay, pension scheme, blue light card discounts, length of service rewards, refer-a-friend scheme, and access to wellbeing courses, training, flexible/hybrid working options, and strong ongoing supportAbout the role: As a Senior Wellbeing Support Worker, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the REST Hub service (Recover, Eat, Support, Talk), providing holistic support to individuals experiencing mental health distress. Acting as the lead practitioner on shift, you will oversee operations, support staff and volunteers, and ensure a safe, welcoming, and high-quality environment for all service users. Working hours are 37 per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm. This is a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2027 (subject to service contract renewal).Main duties and responsibilities: Lead the day-to-day delivery of the REST Hub service, providing direction and support to staff and volunteersBuild positive relationships with individuals accessing the service, offering emotional support including in crisis situationsManage service flow, capacity, and staffing levels, responding dynamically to demand and riskEnsure safeguarding procedures are followed and appropriate support pathways are identifiedLiaise with external professionals such as NHS services and emergency services when requiredSupport staff and volunteer development, including supervision, induction, and ongoing guidanceMaintain accurate records, data collection, and reporting in line with data protection requirementsPromote a calm, inclusive, and recovery-focused environmentMonitor and maintain a safe, welcoming, and well-managed siteSupport ongoing service development in line with organisational policies and objectivesAbout you: As a Senior Wellbeing Support Worker, you will have at least 1–2 years' experience working with adults in a mental health environment and be confident working in high-pressure, emotionally demanding situations. You will have a strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and recovery-focused support, with experience delivering both 1:1 and group support. You will bring excellent communication, organisational, and problem‐solving skills, with the ability to lead within a team and manage competing priorities effectively. You will be confident supporting staff and volunteers, handling sensitive situations professionally, and maintaining clear boundaries. A qualification in mental health (e.g. NVQ Level 3, DipSW, RMN, Counselling or equivalent) is desirable, along with experience managing volunteers or small teams.You must be willing to undertake an enhanced Adult's Barred DBS check.About them: They are committed to making Suffolk the best place in the world for talking about and taking care of mental health.
