OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 3 Health Care Support Worker working as part of the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team within Caithness. The base for this post is negotiable between Dunbar Hospital, Thurso and Town & County Hospital, Wick.

ResponsibilitiesThe role holder will work to maintain individuals in their own community. You will have good communication and personal skills, time management and organisational skills. You will need to have the ability to work alone and on your own initiative but still be a team player. You must be adaptable, self‐motivated and able to respond to challenges.

Qualifications

Ability to work alone and use own initiative while being a team player; adaptable, self‐motivated.

Good communication skills, time management and organisational skills.

Willingness to travel effectively and efficiently; driving licence essential and a pool car may be available, however applicants should have access to their own vehicle for work purposes, if required.

Full‐time permanent post of 36 hours per week, to be worked in accordance with service requirements.

Willingness to work at the negotiated base locations.

Additional Information

Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‐time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part‐time hours will be adjusted on a pro‐rata basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
