Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner

Job description

Are you an experienced Senior Nurse or Allied Health Professional (AHP) seeking your next career challenge?

If you are, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a specialised and autonomous practitioner to join the team at the Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) as an ACP or trainee ACP (depending on qualifications). In this development role you will work towards successfully completing the Advanced Practitioner (AP) MSc (Level 7) programme in line with the Trust framework for advanced practice and their primary professional regulatory body.

You will play a key part in the UTC's day-to-day operations by providing high-quality care to patients and support to your UTC colleagues, as well as championing a culture of excellence—enhancing team skills, promoting multidisciplinary collaboration, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Successfully complete the Advanced Practitioner (AP) MSc (Level 7) programme in line with the Trust framework for advanced practice and their primary professional regulatory body, with the expectation that, on successful completion, the post holder will move into a qualified ACP role at Band 8a.

Work towards fulfilling the expectations and core capabilities of an ACP as set out in the Multi-professional Framework for Advanced Clinical Practice in England (HEE, 2017) and the Trust's Qualified ACP Job Description.

During the apprenticeship/training programme, the tACP will be supported to provide expert professional and independent clinical care, which enables the coordination of a multi-professional seamless service for patients under clinical supervision.

Draw on a diverse range of knowledge to determine evidence-based therapeutic interventions, which will include prescribing medication where legally allowed.

Demonstrate all four pillars of practice by being involved in and leading activities that enable a rich culture of education, research, and quality evidence-based practice.
