Occupational Therapy Support Worker

Job description

An exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapy (OT) Support Worker on the older adult OT team in Caerphilly. The post involves delivering OT interventions on the inpatient ward, supporting assessments under the direction of the senior OT, and working within a multidisciplinary team in a dementia care setting.

Hours: 23.5 hours a week – Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, with some flexibility to meet service needs.

Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

Provide OT interventions and support in an inpatient setting under guidance of the senior OT.

Assist with assessments and develop person‐centred intervention plans, including group and one‐to‐one activities using meaningful tasks.

Collaborate closely with the OT team and the wider multidisciplinary team to promote OT services.

Participate in the Agored training programme for professional development.

Demonstrate excellent communication, creative thinking, empathy, compassion and person‐centred values.

Qualifications

GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).

Relevant courses related to the area of practice.

Experience

Experience in health, social care or related environment.

Experience working with individuals with mental health needs.

Experience working with older adults.

Experience as a therapy assistant.

Salary£26,300 to £27,890 a year (pro rata).
