Support Worker - Adults with Learning Disabilities & Mental Health

We are looking for compassionate and motivated Support Workers who are passionate about enabling adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs to live as independently as possible.

Role: Support Worker

Pay Rate: £12.90 Per Hour

Shifts: Days and Nights

Full-time - 42 hours per week

Location: Kidsgrove, Staffordshire

About the Role:As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting adults to:

Engage in meaningful activities that reflect their interests, goals, and aspirations

Build confidence and skills to live as independently as possible

Access and participate in their local communities, including education, employment, volunteering, and social opportunities

Develop and maintain positive relationships with family, friends, and professionals

Make informed choices and have their voice heard in all aspects of their lives

You will provide person-centred support that promotes dignity, respect, and choice, adapting your approach to meet each individual's needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Support individuals with daily living skills, encouraging independence at every opportunity

Facilitate community-based activities and meaningful occupation, tailored to individual outcomes

Promote emotional wellbeing and positive mental health

Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals

Maintain accurate records and contribute to person-centred support planning

Support individuals to manage risks safely while maintaining choice and autonomy

About You:

Are caring, patient, and genuinely committed to supporting others

Believe in ability, not limitation

Can encourage independence while providing the right level of support

Communicate clearly and respectfully

Are reliable, flexible, and able to work as part of a supportive team

Experience in learning disabilities or mental health is welcomed, but not essential - we value the right attitude, values, and willingness to learn.
