Autism Support Worker

OverviewWe are seeking 2 Casual Relief Support Workers at our Bolsover site to support autistic adults and help them develop independent living skills. The role is flexible, with a rolling rota covering early, late, sleep‐in, weekend, bank holiday and other shifts. No prior experience is required – full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure high standards of professional care and practice for service users, including attention to independent living, physical, cultural, social, learning, vocational, recreational and emotional needs.

Maintain cleanliness and observe IPC measures within the setting.

Develop positive working relationships with service users, families and team members, recognising personal limitations and seeking support when needed.

Familiarise with Autism East Midlands systems and processes to deliver high‐quality care and support.

Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with GDPR.

Liaise with families, clinical team and external agencies professionally and record interactions confidentially.

Develop and embed knowledge of autism, CALM and Positive Behaviour Support into practice.

Complete all elements of the Care Certificate and mandatory training.

Access internal IT systems and log incidents on reporting systems.

Adhere to finance procedures and company policies.

Work flexibly according to the rota and contract terms.

Communicate within the team to ensure continuity of care.

Understand the communication methods of those supported in the service.

Follow individual support plans and risk assessments to work safely.

Support service users with personal care when required.

Provide assistance in line with individual support plans and the Autism East Midlands Code of Conduct.
