Salary: £23,556.00 - £26,114.40 (pro – rata including holidays)

Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Hours: 40hrs + sleep ins, 39 weeks.

Duties of a Senior Boarding Support Worker

Be accountable to the Boarding Manager and the Senior Leadership team at the Caldecott Foundation School.

Under the guidance of the Boarding Manager and the School Leadership team be responsible for the Local Child Protection procedures and foundation policies on safeguarding the welfare of children/young people.

Ensure children/young people carry appropriate responsibility for their own lives, keep them informed as to the progress they're making and involve them in the planning of their lives as much as possible while residing in the boarding provision and attending education.

Provide and support the provision of primary care for each child/young person, help them develop healthy attachments and act as a key worker. Liaise with their family, school and referring agency in ensuring a consistent approach to meeting the individual needs of our children and young people.

Provide quality written reports that document and evidence the child/young people's daily, weekly and monthly progress both residentially and educationally.

Essential for the role

At least 18 months experience of working with children in any care, residential or educational settings.

NVQ Diploma Level 3 in Social Care, working with Children and Young People or NVQ Diploma Level 3 Children and Young People Workforce.

Understanding of the significance of Child Protection Issues and the necessity of following procedures.

Sound knowledge of Children and young people's SEN/EHCP (ADHD, ODD, ASD etc).

An enthusiasm and interest in achieving the best results in all aspects of care, education and health of children and young people.
