Teacher of Learning Development (Part Time)

Job description

OverviewRugby School is a boarding and day school operating seven days a week, including evenings during term time.

This is a part‐time position (0.47 FTE) with a workload of 28 units per fortnight out of a possible 60. The role does not include pastoral or co‐curricular duties, though pastoral tutoring is an optional option with additional allowance.

Responsibilities

Teach Learning Development lessons to students with SEND throughout the School.

Advocate for students with SEND and contribute to the development of their skills.

Support and advise teaching and pastoral staff on best approaches to support students with SEND.

Communicate with parents, previous schools and other stakeholders to ensure optimal support for students with SEND.

Complete administrative work and provide coaching to students and their parents.

Lead small group lessons with roughly six students.

Employment TermsClosing Date: 1 June 2026. Anticipated start date: 1 September 2026.

Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening, including DBS checks and checks with past employers.

A Non‐appointment is possible before the closing date at the discretion of the School.
