Senior Residential Support Worker – Children's HomeDepartment: Residential

Location: Ivy Cottage - Nelson

Compensation: £34,408 - £37,834 per year

Hours: full time (2 days and 2 sleep nights in a row, followed by 4 day break)

About the RoleIvy Cottage is a solo EBD home, providing a safe, caring and structured home environment for young people. As a Senior Support Worker, you'll play a key part in the running of the home and the needs of your young people.

Responsibilities

Building strong, trusting relationships with children, families, and professionals

Supporting care plans and helping young people achieve their goals

Leading by example and supporting junior colleagues on shift

Promoting a safe, clean, and happy home environment

Encouraging learning, development, and independence in every child

Keeping records up to date with care and professionalism

What We Are Looking For

A minimum of 12 months experience in residential childcare

A Level 3 Diploma (or above) in Residential Childcare (or an accepted equivalent)

A full UK driving licence – essential for transporting young people and attending external meetings

A calm, resilient, and compassionate approach to care

Be able to work shift patterns including sleep ins (rota given in advance but likely to be 2‐on, 4‐off)

Candidates must be able to work in the UK

*Estimated salary based on a pay rate of £13.80 to £15.45 per hour for days (depending on qualifications held) and working 8 sleep‐nights per month on average (at £60 per sleep night). Rates applicable from April 2026.
