Healthcare Assistant - TheatreWinterbourne Hospital, Dorchester – 37.5 Hours per week, Permanent.
Salary: £24,947.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification).
OverviewWe have an opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Theatre department. This is a full time role covering a flexible shift pattern.
Duties Of This Role Include
Assist in delivering safe and effective care across the theatre department, supporting patients throughout their surgical pathway.
Prepare theatres for procedures, including equipment checks, stock preparation, and ensuring the environment is clean and ready.
Engage with patients in a respectful, dignified, and empathetic manner, helping to alleviate anxiety and ensure comfort.
Communicate appropriately with members of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to smooth handovers and coordinated care.
Maintain a high standard of personal conduct and clinical care in accordance with CHG policies and the HCA framework.
Conduct all work in line with guidance from the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) codes, as relevant to the role.
Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria
Previous experience working in a clinical or healthcare support role.
Good verbal and written communication skills with a compassionate, patient‐centred approach.
Willingness to undertake training and competency development in theatre‐specific care.
Understanding of infection control, safeguarding, and basic health and safety principles.
