Youth Mental Health Support Worker – Nurture Provision for KS3 & KS4

Location: Caerphilly

Start date: 7th of September 2026

Schedule: Monday - Friday / 08:30-15:00 / Term time only

We work with KS3 and KS4 students, teaching a mixture of the primary curriculum to meet the needs of children with additional learning needs (ALN) and trauma.

Your RoleAs a Youth Mental Health Support Worker , you'll combine leadership, mentoring, and classroom control to create a focused, positive learning environment.

What You'll Do

Provide one-to-one and group support for pupils with ALN and trauma.

Help create a nurturing and inclusive environment for learning.

Work alongside our dedicated staff to implement bespoke learning plans.

Support pupils' emotional wellbeing and help them develop coping skills.

Requirements

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (support available if needed).

EWC (Education Workforce Council) registration – we'll guide you through the process if you're not yet registered.

Two recent references from employers or relevant roles.

Safeguarding and TrainingAll applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance 'Keeping Children Safe in Education', including an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants. All registered candidates receive FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
