We are seeking a calm, patient, and proactive Autism Support Worker / Personal Assistant to support a 20‐year‐old autistic young man in building independence and daily‐living skills. He is highly capable but experiences challenges with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation. The ideal candidate can think ahead, follow structured behaviour‐support routines, and help him succeed without over‐prompting.

Provide 1‐to‐1 support using low‐arousal / Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches.

Follow clear safety and communication protocols (Zones of Regulation).

Use task analysis and chaining to teach independent skills such as meal prep and washing up.

Encourage expressive language and emotional self‐regulation through consistent routines.

Record brief daily notes (task steps completed, Zones check, any incidents) and collaborate closely with parent and external professionals to review progress.

Essential Skills / Experience

Proven success supporting autistic adults or older teens with behaviour of concern.

Confident using calm, structured responses and maintaining personal space in escalations.

Able to shrink tasks rather than complete them for the learner; reliable, emotionally steady, and able to follow a written support plan.

Good written English for brief notes.

(Preferred) PBS, Studio 3, Team‐Teach, or similar training; or Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification.
