About the RoleAn opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the team within our Cardiology Department. Cardiology is a 26 bedded ward with both Cardio and General Medical Patients. As a Health Care Support Worker, you will also be expected to work in our 8 bedded CCU ward.

As a team player with excellent communication skills and flexibility, you will contribute to service development, work effectively as part of a team, and work independently delivering high quality, patient‐focused care in a busy and demanding environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide support to the registered nursing team by carrying out an extended range of assigned clinical tasks.

Provide direct patient care.

Perform associated administrative duties.

Requirements

Previous experience of working within a healthcare setting (essential).

Completion of SVQ 3 (preferred).

Adaptability to change and the ability to work without direct supervision.

Capability to work rotational shifts – days, nights and weekends.

Membership in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.

Legal right to work in the United Kingdom, or eligibility to be sponsored.

Benefits & Conditions

Full‐time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week as per the Agenda for Change – pay will not be affected due to a corresponding increase in hourly rate.
