Job OverviewChildren's Residential Support Worker – located on Hayling Island, supporting young people aged 5‐18 in a care home setting.
Full‐time, 39 hours per week. Shift pattern includes long days with occasional extra sleep‐ins (4–8 per month). Pay includes a competitive salary plus an additional £3k‐£6k per annum for sleep‐ins.
Responsibilities
Provide safe, loving care in a children's residential setting.
Act as a professional parent by giving encouragement and praise.
Organise and participate in fun days out, such as fishing, ice skating, bowling, trampolining and revisiting missed milestones.
Offer emotional and physical support to help children reach their full potential, even in challenging situations.
Build friendships and trusting relationships.
Help children find pleasure in everyday tasks.
Empower children to make decisions about themselves.
Maintain a safe home environment, including cleaning, laundry and cooking as part of the job.
Qualifications
Passionate about supporting children to lead happy lives.
Great communication skills; positive, playful and energetic.
Experience working with children in care or transferable skills such as children's nursery, adult supported living, challenging behaviours, education, sports or working with vulnerable people is beneficial.
Ability to remain calm during sometimes challenging situations.
Full UK driving licence is beneficial.
Willingness to work flexibly, including shifts and sleep‐ins.
