Senior Support Worker - Homelessness ServicesBicester, Oxfordshire£29,350 per year37.5 hours per week | PermanentWorking PatternMonday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm(Lone working required within the service on a daily basis)About the RoleA leading homelessness support provider in Oxfordshire is seeking a Senior Support Worker to join their dedicated team in Bicester.This is a frontline role within a supported accommodation service, working with individuals experiencing homelessness and complex needs. The service focuses on providing structured support to help residents stabilise their lives and progress towards independent living.You will be working on a lone working basis within the service each day , taking responsibility for delivering high-quality, person-centred support and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all residents.This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable adults.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day support within a supported accommodation serviceWork independently (lone working) while ensuring a safe and structured environmentCarry out key working sessions and develop personalised support plansSupport residents with complex needs including mental health, substance misuse, and housing instabilityConduct risk assessments and ensure safeguarding procedures are followedSupport residents to access relevant services, benefits, and external support agenciesPromote independence and assist individuals in working towards move-on accommodationMaintain accurate records and case notes using internal systemsRespond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and incidentsBuild positive, professional relationships with residents and external agenciesEnsure the service remains safe, clean, and compliant with policies and proceduresWhat We Are Looking ForEssential:Experience working within homelessness, supported housing, or adult social careStrong understanding of safeguarding and risk managementExperience supporting individuals with complex needs (mental health, substance misuse, etc.)Ability to work independently in a lone working environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skillsGood IT and administrative skillsAbility to manage challenging behaviour and situations calmlyDesirable:Experience in supported accommodation or hostel environmentsKnowledge of housing pathways and move-on supportExperience key working in a structured support settingPersonal QualitiesWe are looking for someone who is:Compassionate and empatheticResilient and confident in lone working situationsProactive and organisedPassionate about supporting vulnerable adultsA strong team player when working across services and agenciesSafeguarding & EqualityThe organisation is committed to safeguarding vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment.They are also an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all backgrounds and communities.If you are passionate about supporting individuals experiencing homelessness and want to make a real impact within a frontline service, we would love to hear from you.#OxSW
