Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications from applicants not listed within these groups.**Macclesfield Hospital is a busy District General Hospital situated in Cheshire, close to the Peak District and within easy reach of the centre of Manchester.Ward 10 is a Trauma and Orthopaedic Ward based on the Macclesfield site. We have 33 beds on the unit. 20 on the trauma ward and 13 on the elective wardWe are looking for a Band 3 HCSW or a Band 2 who are willing to upskill their knowledge and take on this role which will involve clinical duties such as performing ECG's, doing observations and other tasks.You will need to enjoy variety, be flexible and willing to learn new skills. You will be working within a multi-disciplinary team and must have a positive and proactive approach to work.We welcome applications from Graduate visa holders; it is important to note that you must have a minimum of 6 months before this expires at the start of your employment for training and operational reasons.Please be advised we are unable to provide Skilled Worker Visa Sponsorship to non-UK residents.Basic DutiesParticipation in the admission and orientation of patients/carers and provide writteninformation as is availableAssist patients in meeting personal hygiene, toilet and protection needs, as requestedParticipate in meeting the nutritional needs of the patients, liaising with the unit's Dietician,ensuring the correct ordering of feeds etc.Observe for any emotional/physical changes in patients/carers and report this to theRegistered Nurse (RN), assisting in providing a solution to the problem.Encourage and motivate patients, towards attaining their potential for independence -using own initiative and providing advice.Be familiar with the correct manual handling procedures and aids available.Contribute ideas to maintaining the Unit's agreed values, aims and objectivesAdvanced Duties (as delegated by the Registered Nurse and competent to do so)Carry out vena-puncture when requiredPerforming and documenting basic vital signs - Blood Pressure, Pulse, Respirations,Temperature and Urine output.Performing ECGsSetting up bed areas for admissionSetting up essential equipmentWorking for our organisation We are committed to providing the best quality integrated care to our patients.
