Manufacturing Apprentice

Job description

Our client is looking to welcome an ambitious person to join their growing Manufacturing & Warehouse team in Peterlee as a Lean Manufacturing Apprentice (Tape Edger).

Duties will include:

Ensuring mattresses are produced to the correct specification

Maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to health and safety regulations

Operating machinery and production line equipment

Performing quality checks and inspections to ensure finished goods are in line with quality policy

Performing routine maintenance on equipment

Reporting any defects or issues to management

Meeting production targets and deadlines

Always maintaining a clean and tidy workspace

Complying with all company policies and procedures including ISO and make recommendations for continuous improvements

Any other reasonable tasks as required by the management team.

Required knowledge, skills and experience:

Previous warehouse experience is not essential

Must be able to pass pre-employment tests including Drug & Alcohol

Flexibility in working hours during busy periods (Core hours are 9am - 5pm but 8am starts are sometimes required)

Ability to work in an organised manner, cleaning as you go
