About the Company
Are you an experienced residential childcare professional looking to progress into a leadership role? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Manager to support the management of a children's residential home for young people with Learning Disabilities. About the Role
Working alongside the Home Manager, you will help lead the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and support are delivered to every young person.
Responsibilities
- Support the Home Manager in the daily running of the home
- Lead, supervise, and mentor residential care staff
- Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured environment
- Contribute to care planning, reviews, and multi-agency meetings
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and quality standards are consistently met
- Conduct staff supervisions, inductions, and practice support sessions
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and administrative documentation
- Support Ofsted inspections and regulatory compliance
- Promote positive outcomes in education, health, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing
Qualifications
- Level 3 or 4 qualification in Children's Residential Care (or equivalent)
- Level 5 Residential Childcare qualification, or willingness to work towards it
- Previous experience within a children's residential care setting
Required Skills
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Ability to manage challenging situations professionally and effectively
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred
- Enhanced DBS required (support available)
