About the position:

The Key Account Manager UK role is a senior account management position with primary focus on retaining, developing, and growing a portfolio of existing strategic accounts while identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities. The role balances deep relationship management with commercial expansion, ensuring that key customers receive exceptional service while maximizing lifetime value. A secondary focus includes selectively converting qualified leads to further strengthen the account portfolio. The role requires a consultative, customer-centric approach and the ability to partner with internal teams to drive value for both the client and the customer.


Key responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of key existing accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, retention, and loyalty
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans for each key customer, identifying growth levers, risk areas, and long-term partnership opportunities
  • Proactively identify upsell, cross-sell, and value-add opportunities within the existing customer base, driving margin-accretive revenue growth
  • Build and nurture senior-level relationships with decision-makers and influencers across purchasing, operations, marketing, and supply chain functions
  • Serve as the primary commercial point of contact and trusted advisor for assigned accounts, handling contract renewals, pricing discussions, and issue resolution
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (operations, customer service, production, marketing) to ensure seamless delivery, resolve escalations, and tailor solutions to customer needs
  • Monitor account health metrics, customer satisfaction, and competitive threats, taking proactive action to mitigate churn risks
  • Conduct regular business reviews with key accounts to showcase value delivered, align on priorities, and uncover new opportunities
  • Selectively engage in new business development by converting qualified leads or referrals that fit the strategic account profile
  • Operate with a high level of autonomy, urgency, and accountability, thriving in a fast-moving, performance-driven environment


Preconditions:

  • Strong experience and proven track record in key account management, strategic account growth, or senior-level customer relationship management in labels, packaging, or printing
  • Highly self-motivated professional with a strong commercial mindset and relationship-building skills
  • Impact-driven and commercially sharp, with the ability to balance customer advocacy and company profitability
  • Strong communicator and negotiator, capable of influencing at C-level and across functions
  • Proactive and resilient, able to manage multiple priorities and complex customer situations
  • Team player, with ability to coordinate across multiple sites and with senior leadership
  • Ability to work independently and travel across the UK
  • An existing network of relationships with key accounts in relevant segments (FMCG, CPG, Industrial) is a strong advantage
