Male Support Worker Bishop Auckland Area
Part-Time | Monday to Friday | 10:00am 2:00pm

We are seeking a highly motivated, reliable, and compassionate Male Support Worker to support a gentleman living with a non-traumatic acquired brain injury in the Bishop Auckland (DL13) area.
This post is exempt under the Equality Act 2010 due to a genuine occupational requirement for a male support worker.
This is a unique opportunity for someone with a passion for music and creativity. Our client has a strong interest in music and enjoys playing instruments, making music, and attending live performances. We are looking for a support worker who shares this enthusiasm and would enjoy building a meaningful connection through music. You'll be supporting a client to continue enjoying one of his greatest passions, creating meaningful experiences together both at home and in the community.
Whether you play an instrument, enjoy jamming sessions, have experience performing, or simply have a genuine love of music, this could be an incredibly rewarding role.
About the Role:
You will provide person-centred support that promotes independence, wellbeing, and engagement in activities that matter most to our client. Music is a key part of his life, and you will play an important role in helping him continue to enjoy and participate in musical activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting with daily living activities and routines
Encouraging independence and community participation
Making music together and supporting musical interests
Playing instruments and engaging in creative music sessions
Attending music gigs, events, and community activities
Providing companionship and emotional support
Maintaining accurate daily records and documentation
What We're Looking For:
A caring, patient, and empathetic individual
A genuine passion for music and playing instruments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Previous support work or care experience is desirable
Ability to work independently and use initiative
A driver with access to a vehicle and appropriate business insurance (preferred)
Eligibility to live and work in the UK (sponsorship is not available)
