The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified apprentice from any technical trade (electrical, mechanical, automotive, plumbing, HVAC, etc.) to step into a field-based engineering role, working on medical and care equipment including:

  • Air pressure mattresses (APMs)
  • Assisted baths

This is a fully field-based role, travelling across your region and occasionally across the UK.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Carrying out planned servicing, inspection, and basic repairs on care and medical equipment
  • Installing and assembling profiling beds and air pressure mattresses
  • Supporting Level 2 engineers on larger or more technical jobs
  • Collecting and delivering equipment where required
  • Completing digital service reports via mobile device
  • Ensuring high standards of health & safety and customer interaction
  • Maintaining tools, van stock, and equipment

What We're Looking For

  • Recently qualified apprentice or junior engineers in any technical trade (e.g. Electrical, mechanical, automotive, maintenance, plumbing, HVAC)
  • Hands-on, practical mindset with a willingness to learn
  • Good communication skills and a professional approach on customer sites
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel and stay away occasionally

Progression

  • Clear pathway into Level 2 Field Service Engineer
  • Opportunity to progress into fault finding, diagnostics, and repair work
  • Ongoing training and support from experienced engineers

Salary & Benefits

  • Basic salary: £28,350
  • Company van provided
  • Paid door-to-door (40 hours per week)
  • Bonus scheme (after successful probation)
  • Overtime available
  • 23 days holiday, increasing to 28 days with length of service, plus bank holidays
  • Pension scheme
  • All accommodation and expenses covered for overnight stays
  • Healthcare & wellbeing support (GP and mental health access)
  • Team rewards, lunches, and incentives
  • Quarterly team meetings and annual reviews

Why Apply?

  • Ideal first step into field service engineering from any technical background
  • Gain experience on specialist medical and care equipment
  • Strong work-life balance (no on-call, no complex repairs at Level 1)
  • Join a fast-growing, supportive team with clear progression
