Breast Clinical Specialist Radiographer (Trainee will be considered)
Travel is required to all mobile units and static sites. The role will cover all duties expected of a Band 8a Breast Clinical Specialist and requires current experience in mammography and registration as an HCPC Radiographer.

Main duties of the job
The Breast Screening main unit is located at Russells Hall Hospital, Dudley along with the Symptomatic Service. The Screening service has three assessment centres based at Russells Hall Hospital, New Cross Hospital and Cannock Chase Hospital, and also 3 static screening sites and 3 mobile units.

Qualifications and Education

DCR/BSc in Diagnostic Radiography

Certificate of Competence in Mammography

Recognised qualification in Image Interpretation

Recognised qualification in Stereotactic Biopsies

Recognised qualification in Breast Ultrasound

Knowledge and Training

Registered with the HCPC

Evidence of CPD

Awareness of current issues within NHS and NHSBSP

Experience

Ability to work at Advanced Practice Level

Extensive experience in Breast Imaging (Screening and Symptomatic)

Previous experience of mentoring/teaching

Experience of Quality Assurance Programme

Experience in Audit Activities

Previous experience of Health Promotion

Communication & Relationship Skills

Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex/distressing news in a sensitive manner

Self‐motivated and able to motivate others

Ability to work within and supervise a team

Analytical & Judgement Skills

Ability to work under pressure/stressful situations
