Creative Teaching Assistant Protocol Education is recruiting teaching assistants to work in a state‐of‐the‐art special needs school in Brentwood starting in September.
Overview This inclusive school offers teaching assistants the chance to work with all ages such as early years, primary and secondary students, and will provide training throughout the role. This particular school is looking for individuals who enjoy working with children of all ages and are passionate about making a positive impact in students' learning and development. No experience is required, but commitment, passion and dedication are key attributes the school is looking for. As a teaching assistant you will be working in small class sizes of 6‐8 students per class with special needs that include autism, speech and language difficulties and complex needs. If successful you will support students with their set curriculum, which is tailored to meet the students' needs, developing speech & language skills, teach vocabulary and comprehension through visual resources, support students in core subjects such as numeracy and literacy and also assist in creative lessons such as art, music, swimming, cooking, K9 therapy and sensory play.
Responsibilities Monday to Friday
A year long role, offering flexibility
Working with special needs such as autism, speech & language and learning difficulties
Working with students in a set class of 6‐8 students per class
Developing students communication and social awareness
Opportunity to developing students learning on a one to one basis
Assisting in key subjects such as tailored numeracy & literacy
Supporting students in creative lessons such as art, music, swimming and cooking

Requirements & Safeguarding All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
