Typical responsibilities

  • Deliver creative, passion-led projects , integrating practical Maths and English.
  • Tailor responsive, flexible learning to meet diverse SEN needs, strengths, and learning styles.
  • Act as a trusted mentor using trauma-informed and attachment-aware approaches to support SEMH, ASC, and ADHD.
  • Foster emotional regulation, resilience, and learner autonomy through calm, positive modeling.
  • Capture growth in Online Learning Portfolios, ensuring alignment with EHCP and ILP outcomes.
  • Maintain rigorous safeguarding standards while promoting a culture where learners feel safe and valued.
  • Support community engagement, leadership, and career pathways to empower learner potential.


Essential Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs
  • (SEN)Experience may be from education, Alternative Provision, youth work, SEND, pastoral or mentoring roles.
  • Strong belief in child-centred, relational education.
  • Ability to adapt learning to individual needs and emotional readiness
  • Calm, reflective and emotionally intelligent app
  • Confidence supporting learners who are disengaged or anxious about education.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.
  • Teaching qualification (QTS) or equivalent experience (not essential).
  • Experience in Alternative Provision, SEMH or specialist settings.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed or therapeutic approaches.
  • Confidence using digital tools to capture learning and progress.
  • Outdoor learning, creative or project-based learning experience.
