ROLE SUMMARY

Reporting to the Global Head of Sustainable Investment Research, the Climate Research Analyst will work within the Sustainable Finance & Investment (SFI) Research Team in the Data & Analytics division of LSEG.

The analyst will gain a detailed grounding in analysis that integrates sustainability and financial data, while engaging with LSEG’s global client base, investor initiatives, academics, project partners, and other collaborators in the sustainable investment space.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

The Climate Research Analyst will develop and improve both country‑level and corporate climate‑related scoring models and assessment tools for corporates and countries and co‑author high‑profile thematic publications on climate and sustainability.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

Candidates should bring a passion for sustainability, climate analysis, and experience or strong curiosity in research within an investment context. Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective engagement with clients and collaborators, are highly valued.

Key expectations of the role

  • Ideally, bring 2+ years of experience in quantitative and qualitative climate research; experience in an investment context is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to effectively engage collaborators with varying demands – both internal (e.g. Operations and technology teams) and external (e.g. Clients, standard setters, and regulators).
  • Strong analytical skills are essential; proficiency in Python or similar tools is highly desirable, experience with LLMs is an asset.
  • A proven track record of producing impactful publications and strong analytical writing and presentation skills is an asset.
  • Experience in developing climate‑related analytics products and frameworks is a plus.
  • Being comfortable with change in a fast‑paced environment with competing demands, and working collaboratively as a great team‑player.
