Dr McMaster & Partners, The Health Centre, Girvan Community Hospital, GIRVAN KA26 9HQ. An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic experienced, or newly qualified GP to join our friendly, well‑established and supportive training Practice (currently FY2 training Practice with an aspiration to GP Training). We are a semi‑rural Practice based in the modern, purpose‑built Community Hospital in the coastal town of Girvan.

Our team consists of 3 GP Partners, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 ANP and 7 administrative staff serving a population of around 4,459 patients. We participate in an in‑hours rota for the provision of medical cover for the Minor Injuries Unit and 20 in‑patient bedded community hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Normal clinical duties, including 15 minute face‑to‑face appointments
  • Telephone triage
  • Occasional home visits
  • Participation in in‑hours cover of the Community Hospital MIU and Ward
  • Optional participation in extended hours provision
  • Encouragement to develop GP specific clinical interests

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experienced or newly qualified GP
  • Ability to work within a CTAC supported environment
  • Proficient use of EMIS and Docman software

Support & Team

The Practice is well supported by our CTAC Team consisting of 1 Nurse and 1 Health Care Support Worker. We also have our wider multi‑disciplinary team comprising District Nursing Services, a General Practice Clinical Pharmacy Team, an Advanced Physiotherapist Practitioner, a Mental Health Practitioner, a Community Links Worker, an Occupational Therapist and a Community Phlebotomy Service.
