Job description

Overview Teach South is seeking a Dance Teacher for a secondary school in Rye. This part-time contract role begins September 2026, offering a salary on the MPS1–UPS3 scale. You will deliver practical dance lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering creativity, performance skills, and student confidence within a supportive Performing Arts department. The school is well-resourced and welcomes applications from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs). This position requires an individual who can inspire pupils through movement and artistic expression.
The Role Teach Dance across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Deliver engaging practical lessons that encourage creativity, teamwork and self-expression.
Plan and assess lessons that support students of all abilities to achieve their potential.
Contribute to school performances, showcases and extracurricular activities where appropriate.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote a vibrant Performing Arts curriculum.
About You Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Experience teaching Dance in a secondary school setting.
A passion for inspiring young people through the performing arts.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
A creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning.
