Healthcare Assistant - Inpatient Unit

Join our friendly and supportive Inpatient Unit team, providing outstanding palliative and end-of-life care to patients and families when they need it most. We're looking for a compassionate Healthcare Assistant with experience in healthcare, care homes, hospitals or community care who is passionate about delivering person-centred care.

Hours: 36 hours per week over 7 days (predominantly nights with occasional day shifts). Part-time hours considered.

Salary: £25,517 - £26,220 (FTE) per year

What is the role?

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will support the delivery of compassionate, individualised care to patients with life-limiting illnesses, helping to maintain comfort, dignity and quality of life.

Working closely with our nursing and multidisciplinary teams, you will:

Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care.

Follow personalised care plans and report changes in patients' conditions. Support patients and families with empathy and sensitivity.

Help maintain a safe, calm and welcoming environment.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide outstanding care.

You'll work flexibly across our inpatient unit and community services to meet patient needs.

Do you have?

NVQ Level 2 in Care/Care Certificate (or willingness to work towards)

A compassionate, caring approach and a genuine desire to support patients and families

Able to communicate sensitively with people during difficult times

The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

A willingness to learn, reflect and develop your skills
