Job description
Senior Clinical Negligence Lawyer | 6+ PQE | Bristol | Hybrid
If you're an experienced Clinical Negligence Lawyer looking for high-quality work without the bureaucracy that often comes with larger national firms, this could be worth a conversation.
I'm working with a highly regarded Bristol firm that's looking to grow its specialist Clinical
Negligence team. The department is consistently recognised by both Chambers & Partners and
The Legal 500, with a reputation for handling some of the region's most complex and high-value
claims.
You'll be trusted with a varied caseload of serious and catastrophic injury claims while working alongside recognised specialists in the field. The role also offers the opportunity to mentor junior lawyers, play a part in developing the team and get involved in business development if that's something you enjoy.
What you'll be doing:
• Managing a complex caseload of pre-action and litigated clinical negligence claims.
• Advising on funding arrangements including CFAs, Legal Aid and legal expenses insurance.
• Drafting pleadings, witness statements and court documents.
• Instructing experts and Counsel on high-value matters.
• Representing clients at hearings, inquests and case management conferences where appropriate.
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
• Playing an active role in the continued growth of the department.
About you:
You'll be a Solicitor or Legal Executive with 6+ years' PQE and strong experience handling claimant clinical negligence matters. Accreditation with APIL, AvMA or the Law Society would be welcomed but isn't essential.
Why consider this opportunity?
This is a firm that's built a strong reputation in the Bristol market, not just for the quality of its work, but for how it looks after its people. You'll find a genuinely supportive team, sensible hybrid working, quality supervision where needed, and the opportunity to continue developing your career without feeling like just another number.
