About the Practice

This established companion animal practice is located on the edge of Dartmoor, Devon, providing an attractive setting alongside a supportive and experienced veterinary team.

The practice is RCVS accredited and recognised for delivering excellent standards of patient care and client service. The team includes experienced Veterinary Surgeons, qualified Veterinary Nurses, and dedicated support colleagues who work together to provide outstanding clinical care.

The practice offers a range of advanced services and facilities, including:

• Ultrasound

• Endoscopy

• Laparoscopic equipment

• Digital radiography

• ECG

• Dental radiography

• In-house laboratory facilities

Additional clinical support is available through referral services in surgery and dermatology, alongside visiting cardiology expertise.

As Clinical Director, you will work closely with senior leadership teams to help shape clinical standards, support team development, and drive continuous improvement across the practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong clinical leadership while continuing to undertake veterinary duties

• Support and mentor Veterinary Surgeons, Nurses, and wider practice teams

• Champion high standards of patient care and clinical excellence

• Encourage team engagement, collaboration, and professional development

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives across clinical performance

• Act as a positive role model and advocate for practice values

• Work closely with regional and senior leadership teams

• Review business performance data, KPIs, and financial information to support decision-making

• Identify opportunities to develop additional services and enhance practice growth

• Promote a supportive, inclusive, and forward-thinking workplace culture

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with leadership capability who is passionate about delivering excellent clinical standards and supporting colleagues.

Applicants should have:

• RCVS registration and experience working as a Veterinary Surgeon

• Previous leadership, mentoring, or management experience within veterinary practice

• Strong communication and team‑building skills

• The ability to motivate and engage colleagues

• A proactive approach to clinical development and service improvement

• Confidence interpreting practice performance data and business information

• A commitment to delivering exceptional patient and client care
