Assistant / Intermediate Quantity Surveyor

Location: Cheshire / Stockport (Site-Based)
Office: Wilmslow
Salary:£33,000 - £42,000 + Car Allowance + Discretionary Bonus + Pension + Holidays

The Opportunity

Lester Lloyd is recruiting on behalf of a highly respected civil engineering contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering highways and infrastructure projects across Cheshire, Stockport and the surrounding areas.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, our client is looking to appoint an Assistant or Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their established commercial team.

This is a predominantly site-based role, with regular visits to the company's Wilmslow office. You'll gain exposure to a wide variety of highways, infrastructure and Section 278 projects, working alongside experienced commercial professionals who are committed to supporting your career development.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the commercial management of highways and civil engineering projects.

• Prepare valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.

• Manage subcontractor procurement, payments and account administration.

• Monitor project costs, forecasts and commercial reporting.

• Produce cost reports and assist with monthly CVRs.

• Support the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager with the commercial delivery of multiple projects.

• Work closely with site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

• Assist with contract administration under NEC and/or JCT forms of contract.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have:

• Experience working as an Assistant or Intermediate Quantity Surveyor.

• Previous highways and Section 278 (S278) project experience this is essential.

• A background within civil engineering or infrastructure contracting.

• Good commercial awareness with excellent communication and organisational skills.

• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a busy commercial team.

• A Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent qualification (or working towards one) is advantageous.
