Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Excellence

• Deliver outstanding clinical care while providing strong leadership and support to the veterinary team.

• Maintain high standards of clinical governance and evidence-based medicine.

• Support team members to work confidently within their qualifications and capabilities.

• Identify opportunities for clinical improvement, innovation, and development.

• Lead clinical audits, education initiatives, and CPD planning.

• Address clinical performance concerns through supportive coaching and improvement plans.

Practice Performance & Strategy

• Lead local clinic strategy and contribute to long‑term business growth.

• Support membership growth and client acquisition initiatives.

• Work collaboratively with wider leadership teams to achieve performance objectives.

• Understand and utilise key performance indicators to influence clinical and financial outcomes.

• Support effective budget planning and financial performance management.

Team Leadership & Development

• Act as the figurehead of the clinic, inspiring and motivating the wider team.

• Directly support and develop veterinary professionals, the Practice Manager, and Head Nurse.

• Conduct regular one-to‑one meetings and performance discussions.

• Encourage a culture of learning, inclusion, respect, and continuous improvement.

• Ensure effective communication across the practice through structured team meetings.

Client Experience & Community Engagement

• Champion exceptional client care through clear, empathetic communication.

• Ensure consent processes, estimates, and clinical discussions are handled effectively.

• Support the management of clinical and non‑clinical client feedback.

• Represent the practice within the veterinary community and local events.

Team Wellbeing

• Promote a supportive workplace culture focused on wellbeing and inclusion.

• Recognise and address team challenges early.

• Encourage open communication and psychological safety.

• Advocate for initiatives that support team health, development, and engagement.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with proven leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional standards of care.

You will have:

• Experience leading or managing a veterinary team.
