Role Description The English Second Language Teacher will deliver engaging, learner-centered English language lessons to individuals and groups at an on-site location in the West Midlands. This contract role involves planning and delivering lessons that address diverse language levels, supporting learners in improving speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills, and preparing learners for exams such as IELTS where relevant. The teacher will assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching methods to meet different learning styles and needs. Day-to-day tasks include creating lesson materials, maintaining accurate records of attendance and progress, collaborating with colleagues to improve teaching practices, and fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment aligned with Humanise Solutions’ values.

Qualifications


  • Strong English Teaching and Teaching English as a Foreign Language skills, with the ability to support learners from varied linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Competence in Lesson Planning and curriculum development to design structured, engaging, and measurable learning experiences.
  • Experience with IELTS preparation and exam-focused instruction to help learners achieve targeted language proficiency outcomes.
  • Relevant teaching qualification (e.g., TEFL, TESOL, CELTA) and, ideally, a degree in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to create inclusive, learner-centered classroom environments and adapt teaching methods to different learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to empathy, cultural sensitivity, and professional integrity.
  • Experience teaching in community, academic, or vocational settings is beneficial, particularly within diverse or underserved communities.
