School Administrator
Location: Tunbridge Wells
Salary: £33,500 per annum
Contract: Full time, term time only
Hours: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
The Graduate Project is recruiting a highly organised and professional School Administrator for a specialist education setting in Tunbridge Wells.
This is a varied, front-facing role supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school. You will be the first point of contact for parents, visitors, staff and external agencies, while providing essential administrative and attendance support.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the school reception, welcoming visitors and responding to telephone and email enquiries professionally.
- Provide administrative support to the senior leadership team, teaching staff and wider school team.
- Maintain accurate pupil records, files and confidential information.
- Support the administration of pupil attendance, including updating records and making first-day absence calls.
- Liaise sensitively with parents, carers, pupils and external professionals regarding attendance and school matters.
- Prepare attendance reports and data for internal monitoring and meetings.
- Manage correspondence, diaries, meeting arrangements and general office administration.
- Support admissions, enrolment and pupil transition processes where required.
- Maintain stationery, office supplies and school documentation.
- Ensure safeguarding, data protection and confidentiality procedures are followed at all times.
- Provide a friendly, professional and efficient service to everyone engaging with the school.
About you
- Previous administration, reception or office-management experience, ideally within a school, education or similar environment.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Confident communication skills and a calm, approachable manner.
- Comfortable handling sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office; experience using school systems such as SIMS or Arbor would be beneficial.
- An understanding of attendance processes and the importance of safeguarding would be advantageous.
- Able to work independently while contributing positively to a supportive team.
This role is subject to enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks.
